What We Offer

Year-round pole vault coaching located in Towson, MD.

USA Track & Field

A-Team Vaulting is a registered USA Track & Field club with USATF Potomac Valley Clubs, Club #:10-1217. All club members must have a USATF membership prior to their first vault session to be covered by the liability insurance during registered club practices.


A-Team Vaulting leverages the Towson University's Towson Center for indoor practices and Johnny Unitas Stadium at Minnegan Field for outdoor practices. Both facilities are located on Auburn Drive in Towson, MD 21252.


We provide pole vault lessons year-round to athletes of all ages and skill levels in the Baltimore area. Sessions last approximately 1 hour and there is anywhere from 1-6 vaulters per session. The cost is $50 per vaulter per session.

The Coaches

Matthew and Kelli Arbaugh both attended the University of Delaware as pole vaulters on the NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor track teams. Since graduating college, they have provided private coaching lessons and clinics to many high school and college level vaulters in the Baltimore Area. They also volunteer their time as pole vault coaches for the Towson University Women's NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor track teams. Together, Matthew and Kelli bring deep knowledge of the sport and diverse personal experiences to A-Team and to the athletes they coach.


Matthew is originally from Owings Mills, Maryland and started his pole vaulting career as a freshman in high school. Matthew attended Loyola Blakefield where he is the current indoor and outdoor pole vault record holder. Matthew joined the University of Delaware track team in 2003 where he competed all 4 years. In 2006, Matthew received the Blue Hen Sportsmanship Award which honors those scholar-athletes who are outstanding role models and display outstanding sportsmanship towards their teammates, coaches, opponents and game officials. The best jump of Matthew’s career was 4.45m (14' 07") at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship meet in 2007.


Kelli is originally from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and started her pole vaulting career as a freshman in high school. She joined the University of Delaware track team in 2005 where she competed all 4 years. Kelli was selected to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA District 2 All-Academic Team for women's track and field in 2008, and was named CAA Women's Track and Field Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2009. In the same year she qualified for NCAA Division I Regionals where she placed 7th. Kelli is the current pole vault record holder at the University of Delaware with a vault of 3.91m (12'10”), and still enjoys competing in open meets in her free time.

I have never pole vaulted before. Can I still book a session?
Yes! A-Team Vaulting works with athletes of all ages and skill levels. New vaulters are always welcome!
Do I need to bring my own poles?
You can bring your own poles, or A-Team has a selection of poles available for use during practices.
Can my parents attend practice?
Absolutely! There is pleny of room for parents to stay and watch.
Are practices held year-round?
Yes, we practice year-round.
